Max Lockman's Journal

My acquaintance

edg has convinced me to start this web log for the purpose of recording some of the folklore I encounter.

I suppose I had better introduce myself. My name is Max (short for Maximilian) Lockman, and I am a folklorist from Andeburg, MA, as well as an occasional lecturer at Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts. I have a Master's in Anthropology from Boston University. I spend most of my time traveling, collecting stories about local folklore, myths, and legends, both contemporary and historical. I am divorced and have no children or other immediate family, although one of the rooms in my house is rented out to my assistant and photographer, Jodie Garner, whose photographs may occasionally accompany my journal entries.

I anticipate beginning to make entries in this journal in earnest by the end of this week.
